It's been four years since I first held a digital camera. Four years since I first experienced that wonderful feeling of just capturing the moment in a photograph, and not worrying about the costs associated with film.
I've had three cameras since: a Canon A400 that served me well until the day I introduced it to the sea, a Canon S2 IS that's still going strong even after meeting the pavement at Yosemite, and a Canon EOS 40D that's my current weapon of choice.
After all that time this still remains one of my favorite images (and it was taken with the A400). We were taking a break after walking around the Ateneo, revisiting our old stomping grounds. Jannin sat on the concrete guard rail while I sat on the stairwell across. I looked up, saw this image, raised the A400 to my eye, and clicked. It's a reminder that it is what's in front and behind the camera that matters.
